Dat Night is a monthly meetup in Portland, Oregon for people interested in decentralized, distributed, and peer to peer web technologies.
Learn about the decentralized web with lightning talks and workshops, and meet other people interested in all things peer to peer! The first Dat Night is at 6:00 PM on November 29th, 2018 at Mozilla, and it's sold out (🎉), but you can still join the waiting list!
- Gina Giampaolo is a designer and developer at Rumors and will talk about why the peer to peer web is exciting right now. She organizes Dat Night.
- Joe Hand is Co-Executive Director at Code for Science & Society and will give an introduction to and history of the dat protocol.
- Darius Kazemi is a Mozilla Fellow and will be talking about the community-oriented design decisions behind Friend Camp, a decentralized social network that he's been running for three months.
- Irakli Gozalishvili is a research engineer at Mozilla and will talk about decentralizing our everyday tools.
This month, the workshop will be a hands-on intro to Beaker Browser and Dat Project! Please bring a laptop if you are able to! You can also download Beaker Browser in advance if you'd like to be one step ahead. All workshop output will be archived.
